National Industry Liaison Group (NILG)
The National Industry Liaison Group was formed voluntarily to create a unique partnership of public and private sector cooperation to deal proactively with important social issues and reaching mutual goals. ILGs are models of cooperation which are wide-reaching.
Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC)
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is an independent federal agency originally created by Congress in 1964 to enforce Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. EEOC provides a range of informational materials and assistance to individuals and entities with rights and responsibilities under EEOC-enforced laws.
Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP)
The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) is part of the US Department of Labor’s Employment Standards Administration. It has a national network of six Regional Offices, each with District and area offices in major metropolitan centers. The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs enforces several affirmative action laws and regulations.
Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission (PHRC)
The mission of the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission is to administer and enforce the PHRAct and the PFEOA of the Commonwealth of the Pennsylvania for the identification and elimination of discrimination and the providing of equal opportunity for all persons. The PHRC is mandated to enforce the Commonwealth’s laws that prohibit discrimination because of race, color, religion, ancestry, age (40 and above), sex, national origin, non-job related disability, known association with a disabled individual, possession of a diploma based on passing a general education development test and familial status. The PHRC’s jurisdiction covers employment, housing and commercial real estate, public accommodations, education, refusal or willingness to participate in abortion procedures and monitoring racial tension situations.
Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR)
The Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, or OVR, provides vocational rehabilitation services to help persons with disabilities prepare for, obtain, or maintain employment. OVR provides services to eligible individuals with disabilities, both directly and through a network of approved vendors. Services are provided on an individualized basis. The OVR counselor, during face-to-face interviews, assists customers in selecting their choice of vocational goals, services and service providers. An Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE) is developed, outlining a vocational objective, services, providers and responsibilities.
