Job Opportunity: Director of Affirmative Action and EEO Compliance at Virginia Tech

Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) invites applications, nominations, and expressions of interest for the position of Director of Affirmative Action and EEO Compliance.

Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Equity and Accessibility, the Director of Affirmative Action and EEO Compliance (Director) provides leadership to advance the university’s affirmative action programs; implements monitoring and audit programs to ensure compliance with equal employment opportunity laws; serves as the campus expert with matters related to affirmative action within the university setting; works closely with university senior management implementing affirmative action plans and ensures university compliance with related regulations; and provides consultation on teaching/research faculty hiring and recruiting processes and procedures.

As a member of the Associate Vice President’s leadership team, the Director participates in strategic planning and university-wide initiatives; supervises and provides leadership to staff who impact affirmative action and equal opportunity programs; serves as point of contact for managing civil rights audits and reviews conducted by various federal agencies such as the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) during federal compliance reviews; and oversees related compliance reporting such as the annual VETS 4212 reporting obligations and the annual Affirmative Action Program Verification process.
